Bachelor of Architecture :

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) is an undergraduate academic degree designed to satisfy the academic component of professional accreditation bodies, to be followed by a period of practical training prior to professional examination and registration. It is awarded for a course of study that lasts up to five years. In some cases, a B.Arch. can be undertaken after having completed a three-year generalized architectural degree plus an additional two years.

Architecture is concerned with the design and construction of buildings in their sociological, technical and environmental contexts. There is increasing recognition of architecture as one of the top intellectual disciplines, an art form, and a technical profession intimately linked with the single largest sector of investment in the economy. Architects are called upon to design and execute building projects and resolve other issues related to the manmade environment in a variety of settings.

Through this five year programme we expect to impart broad based architectural education, which we believe, serves as a window to multiple career choices and job opportunities depending on personal interests of the students in the public, private, NGO and multinational corporate sectors. Students wishing to pursue further studies are eligible to apply for any of the masters and doctoral programmes being run by the Institutions.

MSRIT || History || Mission || Vision ||

MSRIT was founded in 1962 by the late Dr. M. S. Ramaiah, an educationist, humanitarian, and relations visionary. MSRIT is part of Gokula Education Foundation (GEF) which own and manages several educational institutions diagonally various streams. The foundation also runs a Multi Speciality Hospital.MSRIT was the first institute started by the Gokula Education Foundation.

MSRIT is in the 50th year of existence and is one of the oldest engineering colleges in south India. Only 5 other engineering institutions have achieved this mark in Karnataka-UVCE, BMSCE in Bengaluru, BVB College of Engineering & Technology in Hubli Malnad College of Engineering in Hassan and Siddaganga institute of technology(Tumkur).

Undergraduate courses.

MSRIT offers Bachelor of Engineering(BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) at the Under Graduate level. The Program spans over 4 years and is offered in 12 different branches. The Course structure is designed by the faculty of the college with the consultation of the faculty at VTU and IISc.

The intake in the college is fixed by AICTE in India and no affiliated college has the right to increase the intake.This rule applies even to colleges that are academically autonomous. In 2010, MSRIT's students bagged 29 VTU medalsin academics. This medal tally was only after that to RVCE in the state and was amongst 186 associated colleges of VTU. The medals were known away by governor of Karnataka Hansraj Bhardwaj.
