AIPMT 2015: 4 new states to accept AIPMT scores

AIPMT 2015: 4 new states to accept AIPMT scores

AIPMT 2015 scores will be accepted by as many as 4 new states for admission to 85% state quota seats in MBBS and Dental colleges within the states.

Also, as many as 4 states which accepted AIPMT 2014 scores for admission to their medical colleges will conduct their own admission tests for academic year 2015-16, according to AIPMT officials.
With the change in the AIPMT score accepting states, the total number of states effectively participating in AIPMT goes down to 14 , one less as compared to last year.

The states, which will accept state rank of AIPMT 2015 for admission to their 85 per cent quota seats will also continue to hold admission to their 15 per cent central quota seats through AIPMT national ranking.

In AIPMT 2015, 14 bodies will be accepting the national UG level medical test’s result for seats other than the, generally, accepted 15% all India quota seats.

Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Nagaland and Punjab  are some of the states that have opted out of the list, which means the mentioned states and institutes will be conducting their own entrance test for the seats other than the 15% quota category.
While five of them are out of the list of participating states, four others including Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Rajasthan have decided to accept AIPMT 2015 result. This means that there will not be any separate medicine exam conducted by the bodies for acceptance to the remaining i.e 85% of the seats.

The 14 states and institutes, which will accept AIPMT 2015 merit list are:

1. Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Govt. of Haryana
2. Directorate of Medical Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh
3. Directorate of Medical Education, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
4. Directorate of Health Services, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar
5. Departmentof Health & Family Welfare, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh
6. Medical Directorate, Govt. of Manipur
7. Health & Family Welfare Department, Meghalaya
8. Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha
9. Department of Medical Education, Govt. of Rajasthan
10. Govt. Medical College & Hospital, UT Govt. of Chandigarh (UT)
11. Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi
12. Armed Forces Medical Colege (AFMC), Pune
13. Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (UP)
14. Hamdard University, New Delhi
Rajasthan’s decision to part of the AIPMT accepting states comes as it tries to move forward from the spate of controversies surrounding its own state level medical exam RPMT. The court had quashed the exam and results of RPMT 2014 following anomalies in the question paper, which was revealed when the conducting body, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, published the RPMT 2014 answer key with the wrong answers.

The All India Pre Medical/Dental Test or AIPMT 2015 is a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS and BDS seats under 15% All India Quota in Government medical and dental colleges of India excluding Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir.

The AIPMT 2015 application form opened from 1 December, 2014. Aspirants can submit their online forms up to 31 December, 2014. In case, a candidate misses the registration date he/she can fill up the AIPMT 2015 application form until 31 January, 2015.
