The state government has decided to continue admissions to MBBS/BDS courses through (All-India Pre-Medical Test) AIPMT-2015 merit.
The decision to discontinue the state PMT test, being conducted by Himachal Pradesh University till 2013, was taken last year. Director, Medical Education, Dr Jaishree had said no separate PMT test would be held and admissions to MBBS/BDS courses would be made on the basis of the AIPMT, in strict adherence to eligibility criteria fixed by the government.
Only the children of bonafide Himachali/domicile/Himachal government employees and employees of autonomous bodies, wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government, would be eligible to apply for admission to MBBS/BDS courses through counselling on the basis of state merit ranking of AIPMT-2015 in government colleges, including 50 per cent state quota seats in private un-aided colleges in the state.
The applicants should have passed at least two exams out of the middle or equivalent, matric or equivalent, 10+1 or equivalent or 10+2 or equivalent examinations from recognised schools or colleges situated in the state and affiliated to ICSE/CBSE/HP Board of School Education or equivalent boards/universities established by law in India.
Further, the bonafide Himachali students who are admitted to Navodya schools in state and have passed matric or +2 examinations under the exchange programme from other Navodya schools in the country shall also be eligible for admission to the above courses.
Children of defence personnel/ex-servicemen, serving /retired employees of Central Government/UT/other state governments and employees of the autonomous organisations/semi-government bodies of Central Government/UT/other state governments, employees of Himachal Pradesh Government/HP Government Undertaking/autonomous bodies wholly owned by state government and those of employees of private sector/ private occupation would be exempted from passing two school examinations from schools in Himachal, provided they fulfill the condition of being bonafide Himachali domicile and their parents are living outside Himachal Pradesh on account of their service/posting or private occupation.
The students can apply online for appearing in the test up to December 31, 2014, without late fee and up to January 31, 2015 with late fee. The test would be held on May 3, 2015 and the result would be declared by June 5, 2015.
