Institute of Medical
Sciences & Research was set up in the year 2012, in Satara,
Maharashtra. The institute goal is to provide quality healthcare education,
research and training facilities to medical professionals.
The institute is located in rural area of Satara
district(Maharashtra) aim of opening a medical college is to educate the
students of rural area.
The institute is associated to Maharashtra University of
Health Sciences (MUHS), Nasik. It is approved by the Medical Council of India
(MCI), New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.
The Institute is board on a journey of success which is
endless in its pursuits and infinite in its boundless achievements. With best
of academic ambience, educational practices, state-of-the-art infrastructural
facilities, competent faculty, it has become a centre of excellence.
Infrastructural facilities:
IMSR-affiliated 346-bedded teaching hospital is equipped
with super-specialized, digitalized central clinical laboratory and 6 operation
theatres for catering to diverse investigations in Biochemistry, Microbiology,
Anesthesiology, Pathology, Radiology etc. The hospital has state-of-the-art
cardiac, general, neonatal, pediatric and critical care departments, available
for service, at remarkably subsidized rates. Spacious lecture halls,
well-equipped central library, modernized computer labs, Internet connectivity,
audio-visually-aided seminar halls, auditorium, community centers, sports
complex, hostel and mess facilities, cultural activity centre, ATM, and much
more to cater to dissemination of world-class educational services to students.
The campus is free from ragging.
Vision:
- The vision of the inception of the medical institute and the hospital was to provide affordable and highly skilled delivery of healthcare facilities. The college forms a Constituent Unit of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Education Society. The various medical degree and diploma programs are recognized by the Medical Council of India or MCI and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences or MUHS, and Government of Maharashtra.

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) – 4 ½
years course plus 1 year of compulsory internship.
Admission Details:
Admission procedure of the medical college:
IMSR is renowned for its courses with various
specializations in General Medicine, Surgery, Community Medicine, Pediatric,
Radiology, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, Anatomy, and
Biochemistry etc. Admission to 5 and a half years’ MBBS course inclusive of one
year’s internship period is based on the previous academic performance in
Higher Secondary Certification examination, with mandatory Physics, Biology and
Chemistry electives, with minimum required aggregate of 50%. The students
should be at a minimum 17 years of age on or before the year of admission.
Intake permission under MCI for MBBS is 100 students. Seats under management
and reservation quota are allotted according to Associate CET rules.
