Krishna Institute of
Medical Sciences (KIMS), Karad was instituted in the year 1984. The college
has MBBS 150 Seats, PG 76 Seats.
The medical college is about 29 years old and is recognized
by the Medical Council of India, Medical Council of Malaysia and is listed in
the WHO's world directory of Medical Schools.
MBBS and postgraduate degree/diploma courses in clinical and
basic sciences in 17 disciplines are recognized by Medical Council of India. It
also admits the international students from all over the globe for MBBS course.
The medical college is having a deemed status as per the UGC
Act 1956. The affiliated university is KIMS University. The medical institution
conducts an all India Entrance Examination to select students into UG / PG
courses.
The constituent colleges of the University include Medical,
Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Biotechnology offering undergraduate and postgraduate
courses in respective faculties

Course Offered:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor
of Surgery (MBBS):
Its duration is four and a half years plus one year of
compulsory rotating internship course.
Eligibility:
Candidate must be 17 years on or before 31st December of the
academic year
Candidate must have passed Std XII (HSC or equivalent)
examination with physics, chemistry & biology with minimum 50% marks &
English and must secure minimum 50% marks in Krishna All India Entrance Test
(KAIET).
Admission in MBBS Course –
For getting admission into MBBS course in Krishna Institute
of Medical Sciences, Karad, the students have to qualify Common Entrance Test
conducted by KIMS University. The selection of the students is done based on
the ranks obtained in the all India Entrance Examination.
